The "Birthing" of a Book!

Missy Tippens, here. With our new daily themes, today is a day we'll be talking about books and new authors. I'm thrilled to have another book releasing with Love Inspired which should be on the shelves now! While I was at choir practice last night at church, and we were sharing praises and prayer concerns, a woman in the choir said she had a praise. She's a librarian and shared that yesterday, she had received the box of books that had my book, A Family for Faith, in it! I was tickled they'd ordered it. And tickled that she was excited about it. :)

So I hope you'll share the excitement with me. It's kind of like seeing another child born. Something that started as an idea, a one liner, I call it. That grows into a proposal that my editor buys. That then grows into a full book that I turn in by a certain deadline. That gets revised and edited several times. That gets a title and cover. And that then gets shipped to book club subscribers and stores.

Wow, I'm tired from giving birth again! LOL I hope you'll enjoy the story. :)

Here's a blurb:

When Faith Hagin sees widower cop Gabe Reynolds every day in her coffee shop, she can’t help but feel for the struggling single dad. She’s raised a teenager of her own—and sadly, knows what not to do. But thanks to his matchmaking preteen daughter, Chelsea, the whole town’s praying for Gabe to find a wife!

Even though Faith thinks she’s content being just friends, spending time with him and Chelsea starts to feel like a fresh start at having a family. And their love may be the answer to everyone’s prayers.

A Family for Faith should be in stores any day now.

BTW: Do you find it hard to say which book you love best?

  12. Missy, I remember meeting you long ago before you birthed your first book. Then I actually judged some of your chapters in a contest. I knew you'd be here one day. I can always tells the ones who are serious and gifted. I'm so proud of you. I love it when a new girl shows up around here. Or guy--Vince--hear that. There is nothing like having a book published, whether it's your first or ... your 50th. You rock.

  13. You're sweet, Lenora. I remember being at a workshop with you at RWA sometime before I sold, and you were kind enough to introduce me to your editor and brag on my writing. I was a nervous wreck, but so thankful you were that generous! :)

  14. Missy: "Can you tell us a little about BookDepository? Is it an online bookseller?"

    Yes, it is.

It's placed in UK, so I tend to get the books available a bit later than in USA but it compensates because they don't charge for delivery so, that way, I can buy more books with the price other online sellers charge to send them for Portugal ;).

And the book has arrived
