We were married in a chapel across the street from the state capitol where yellow daffodils were in bloom that matched the roses in my bride's bouquet. Now all these years later our son lives in Texas and I was able to visit and get some beautiful photos of the yellow roses there.Janicehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03998919198384720082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-18733016931248886632013-10-18T06:05:29.510-07:002013-10-18T06:05:29.510-07:00Vickie, oh my gosh! Being on a tight budget and not too sentimental, I decided to rent my wedding dress. About 45 minutes before my wedding, Mom decided to press it again. This time the iron was a wee bit hot, and she burned the impression of the iron into the front of my gown. There was no black, just ugly puckers all around the shape of an iron. I was devastated, as was my mom. But it turned out fine, because I was able to hold my bouquet a bit lower and hide the imprint. I was sooooo glad that i was about to leave on my honeymoon while Mom had to return the dress. We didn't have to pay for it since it was insured, but we didn't get our deposit back.
Happy anniversary!!Vickie McDonoughhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09698966142886006577noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-64785862883810201112013-10-17T21:02:51.879-07:002013-10-17T21:02:51.879-07:00We have been married 34 years! My boyfriend(later husband) was a commercial salmon fisherman and went to Alaska to fish during the summer months. When he left for the summer before we were married, a mutual friend of ours called me up and asked me out on a date. My future hubs had just left that morning. I couldn't believe it! We weren't officially engaged, but everyone knew we were together forever. This obviously was upsetting to my future hubs :) At the end of the summer when he got home, he went to chat with our friend. He told him he would be invited to the wedding, but when he came through the reception line, he could only shake my hand and not give me a hug. He told the guy that he would hit him if he hugged me. Well fortunately the guy just shook my hand, but my hubs had his fist balled up ready to hit him when he came through!!! It's a weird wedding memory, but certainly one I will never forget! I also had all my friends and family there, for the most part. I guess you never get everyone there but I had all the important ones there! Even my uncle came from Arizona who had stage 4 cancer and was so weak but loved me enough to come that he wasn't going to miss it. He died a week later. I've never forgotten that. It means so much to me. Three kids and one grandchild later, my husband and I are still going strong! Lots of bumps in the road due to my health issues but we love each other so much! There is a photo of me holding the confetti top throw and looking so excited. It was so much fun. We were watching and the groom was really short like maybe 5 feet 4 if that well they turned him upside down and put confetti down his legs.
Ausjennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07644698706787568679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-10854049789511762152013-10-17T13:44:47.859-07:002013-10-17T13:44:47.859-07:00I was married 13 years ago in the beautiful San Di...I was married 13 years ago in the beautiful San Diego LDS temple to my best friend! It was a good idea to have all of your family come out to celebrate and that made it special. I think my only regret about our day was that we were not married by a preacher.
