I had zero idea who she was but smiled and played along with vague answers. After she left, my friend said, "You had no idea who she was, did you?" Yikes. If it was that obvious to her, the poor woman who was so excited to see me must have realized it too. Maybe it is best to just admit defeat and ask. One time a fellow visited our church and I knew I recognized him, but couldn't place him so I kept asking questions, figuring it would come to me--without asking the big one: "who are you and how do I know you?" Well, I never figured out how I knew him until my husband told me afterward. Here we'd even talked about "his business" and I still didn't place him as the owner of a new business 3 blocks from us and former manager of a business I frequented often! In my defense...I'd never seen him in a suit in tie. :DSandra Orchardhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01236883194496601011noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-3612901872306046502014-11-05T15:05:02.310-08:002014-11-05T15:05:02.310-08:00I'm a pro at making mistakes. :)I'm a pro at making mistakes. :) Dana Mentinkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04366110757864439082noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-84316173298537621782014-11-05T14:56:33.941-08:002014-11-05T14:56:33.941-08:00Pattie Jo - Oh my, I can just picture it! On the way to get him, I picked up a yummy meal to eat when we got home. I pulled into a circular driveway and parked directly in front of a large window, so he could look out and see I was there. While waiting I began eating some of the fried okra from our meal and also reading a Christian novel I'd brought with me. After about twenty minutes, he phoned me on my cell and asked where I was. "I'm right in front of the window, waiting for you." I knew he'd be able to see me there. ~ To my horror he replied, "Mom, you're in front of someone else's house. Greg lives 3 houses up---you went too far down the street." ~ I could only imagine what the residents of that house thought to look out and see some strange lady, reading and eating okra in their driveway, LOL!
Blessings, Patti Jo CatMomhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09985658721138526298noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4945907563318808519.post-14228509630215464052014-11-05T14:15:14.291-08:002014-11-05T14:15:14.291-08:00I would love to read your book, Winnie....love the...I would love to read your book, Winnie....love the cover!

Years ago, as a newlywed, I cooked a meal for in-laws.
