June! How I've longed for you through a cold, dreary, never-ending winter. And you're here--at last!
There's nothing I don't love about this month. That's a double negative right there. Maybe I should rephrase it. I love everything about this month! Better.
I live in northern Ohio where the winters are long, summers are short, falls are gorgeous and spring...well, sometimes we get spring and sometimes it skips us.
My Favorite June Delights
School is out. My 6:15 am alarm is off. Yay! I still set the alarm, but 7:30 is more my style. Plus, I can stay in my pajamas and sip coffee without the busy-busy of school year stuff.
Blue skies, sunshine, temps in the seventies and eighties, green vegetation everywhere you walk. Being outside is a must. I walk as often as possible. My tip? The mosquitoes are out, so load up on bug spray.
Happy anniversary! My hubby and I married twenty-four years ago this month. It's hard to believe! I still feel young at heart, and I'm thankful for my husband every day.
Baseball! My son plays baseball, and summer ball will be wrapping up next month. I also love watching the Detroit Tigers on television and going to Toledo Mudhens games. There's something so nice about spending the afternoon at a ball park.
Beach reads. Who needs the beach to read a fun romance? Not me! I'm digging into Becky Wade's Falling for You. It's her second book in the Bradford Sisters Romance series. Becky writes contemporary romance novels for the Christian market. Love her voice! I can't wait!
Farmer's markets. Thursday nights are for strolling the streets of Perrysburg. Not only is this farmer's market in an adorable downtown, it also features homemade kettle corn. Yum!
Release month! My seventh Love Inspired novel is in stores now, and I'm so excited about it! Reunited with the Bull Rider is the second book in the Wyoming Cowboys series. Here's a little about the book.
Goodbye rodeo, hello hometown. But is
this Wyoming
Cowboy ready to face his past?
Amy
Deerson wanted to mentor a child. Her plan did not include
former bull rider Nash Bolton—the little girl’s brother and guardian. It’s been
a decade since Nash left town without a word, breaking Amy’s young heart. Now
they must put their painful past aside to help fragile, traumatized Ruby. If
only getting over their first love were that simple.
I'm giving away one copy (paperback for US residents 18+, ebook for international residents 18+) of Reunited with the Bull Rider. Simply leave a comment below to be entered. Winner will be selected via random number generator, and I will contact the winner by email. Giveaway is open from June 12, 2018 through 9:00 pm June 15, 2018 (EST).

There should be june delights but as the temps have been around the 100 mark it too hot to really do anything excerpt for my morning walks, been finding some interesting things on my walks.
ReplyDeleteYikes!! Stay inside with the A/C cranked, Kim! At least the mornings are slightly less oppressive. I love outdoor walks!!
DeleteJune means strawberry season! I'm a bit farther north than you, Jill, but it should be here around the first day of summer. I also love the super long days, where it doesn't get fully dark until 10:00 or later at night. The flip side of that is the birds start waking me up at 4:30 in the morning. Hmm.
ReplyDeleteI adore strawberry season! We used to pick them, and I grew them a few years ago. They are so sweet! Yeah, the birds here are REALLY early. I'm all for singing, but maybe a bit later!
DeleteJill, I love summer because the pace of life seems to slow a bit. Summer fun like the pool, barbecues and homemade ice cream are some of my favorite summertime memories. Congrats on the new release!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much, Mary! I love the slower pace, too. Homemade ice cream sounds so, so good!
DeleteJune is an exciting month. One of my children celebrates her birthday, school gets out, summer swim season begins, and hangout time with friends we don’t usually see during the school year commences.
ReplyDeleteAww, happy birthday to your daughter! Isn't it great when school lets out? I love it!!
DeleteI have two June delights. My daughters. They were born on June 18, one year apart. I can't believe the older one is turning 40 next week. Where did the time go?
ReplyDeleteAww, that's a great date because it's my wedding anniversary! Celebration for everyone!! The time does go by too fast. Waaah!!!
DeleteHey there Jill. Like you, there is not much I don't love about June. We've been hit with a lot of pollen and my two fur babies have been sneezing up a storm. So allergies is one thing. I love June weather. I love the smell of the sea air when we head to Cape Cod. I love June flowers and the sweet smell hovering in the air. I love it all. Wheeeee. The sights and sounds and smells of summer.
ReplyDeleteI'm having allergy issues myself, Belle. I buy a lot of over-the-counter meds for it! Ooh, Cape Cod! Sounds awesome! I've always wanted to visit--I'll live vicariously through you this summer--haha! Yes!!
DeleteI had no June delights until this year when I realized that strawberry season was in full swing during this time. I love Strawberries and this year I took my son to a strawberry patch to pick some for the first time. We had a blast! I can see it becoming a tradition for the two of us in the years to come.
ReplyDeleteOh that's so cool! I'm glad you two could pick strawberries! I have fond memories of picking them with my mom!
DeleteHopefully I will have ripe tomatoes before the end of June! I will love that! Thankful that the pollen count is going down.
ReplyDeleteRipe tomatoes early--I'm on board with that! They are so good!
