Life is Good, Let's Celebrate!

Hi, Linda Goodnight here, talking about celebration. Don’t you just love that word? It conjures up all kinds of happy events-birthdays, holidays, awards, anniversaries, and sometimes just plain old life. My daughter is home from New York for a few days. Having her here is celebration in itself, but today, out of the blue, she said, “Mom, let’s go get a pedicure.” Now, folks, I am not usually a pedicure kind of gal, although I love the pampering. I said, “Sure.” And off we went. What fun we had celebrating our Mom and Daughter bond as we sat in the massage chair getting our feet soaked, hot oiled, scrubbed, massaged and beautified. We giggled and joked and just had a grand time. Afterward, we stopped at the ice cream shop for ice cream and chit-chat. I mean, who can resist stopping for Rocky Road ice cream when your feet are feeling so gorgeous!

Sometimes you just have to celebrate living.

  2. Me, too, and I don't get near enough of them!

Anyone else have a special mom-daughter thing they like to do?

  3. I actually like to have mom-daughter (and mom-son!) dates every so often. My daugher likes to go shopping. And to get pedicures--although she's only 12, so doesn't get to do that very often. :)

My son likes to go eat, then go somewhere like Gamestop to shop for video games. That one ends up being a sacrifice by mom! LOL

  7. It's so wonderful to have our grown kids visit.
Our son and his fiancee are arriving Thursday for a long weekend.
I won't see them again until their wedding in Oct.
    Sigh.
    I'll soon be a mil!

  9. Hey, how did you get a picture of my toes. I have red on right now too.

  10. No, those are NOT my toes. lol I have the world's ugliest duck feet. Having them immortalized on a blog would be cruel to the world.

  11. Ah, Lyn, I hope your d-i-l turns out to be as wonderful as mine are. I have been so blessed that my boys picked women who like their crazy mom.

  12. Missy,

I never did the mom-son or mom-daughter date thing and wish I had. Your kids have a smart mom!

  13. Abi,

I'm sure your red toenails look much prettier than mine. So I was glad to 'borrow' a photo of them.

  14. Mez,
I love that picture of my son and his baby, too! I figured the celebratoiin theme was a good way to sneak in a photo of my handsome boys.

  15. What an adorable picture of your son and grandson! After I was married and had my little one I discovered that truly some of the best moments in life, the ones I celebrated most were the smallest. Those moments that the rest of the world may not pay attention to, but that you will remember for the rest of your life. I have some wonderful pictures thanks to my camera, but I have even more picture memories in my mind thanks to our Lord Jesus and the ability he gave us all to store these types of memories :)
