Please Pray for Haiti

Missy here. I've been watching the news tonight while preparing to write this post, and I just can't think of anything but the poor people of Haiti following Tuesday's earthquake. I can't begin to imagine the confusion, helplessness, fear, grief.

Please be in prayer for the victims and all the rescue workers.

Shout for joy, O heavens;
rejoice, O earth;
burst into song, O mountains!
For the LORD comforts his people
and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
Isaiah 49:13

3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, 4who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves have received from God.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4

  1. Missy, my thoughts exactly. I cannot even fathom what they're going through. Thank you for the scripture.

  2. Pamela, I'm having hard time even looking at the news footage. The country is just so devastated.

  3. We journal every day in English. Someone has to bring in a quote everyday, it's not specified, just someone has one. Today everyone agreed only one word was necessary: Haiti. So that's what we journaled about. It was really quite touching. I can't even begin to imagine what they must be feeling right now. I'm feeling so many mixed emotions of how glad I am that I'm not there, but also how insignificant so many things I do seem like now.

  4. Hannah, what you said it so true. We're thankful that it's not us, but then feel bad that we think that, and bad that we can't empathize.

    I'm thankful for all the relief workers who are already there. And I'm thankful for all the help that's headed there from all over the world. On Good Morning America, they showed huge planes for all over bringing supplies.

  5. Yes, Missy, it's kind of a confusing time, isn't it? : / Ah well, I suppose we'll all just keep praying from all our little corners of the universe and God will see to it. Besides, it was his will to do it in the first place, I mean he must have wanted us to see something...that's how I look at it anyway...

  6. I can't even watch the news footage because it is so tragic. I pray for the relief workers who are trying to help.
