Merry Christmas!!

Merry
Christmas!!!
On the twelfth day of Christmas, my true love sent to me
Twelve horns a blaring,
Eleven dancers a rocking,
Ten hunks a strutting,
Nine gals a shopping,
Eight women a-laughing,
Seven flags a waving,
Six teens a-texting,
Five loaded iPods,
Four kissing frogs,
Three chocolate bars,
Two sparkling gems,
And a flamingo in a tutu!

Twelve horns are blaring, announcing the birth of the Christ child. Although, there weren't really any trumpets blowing on that day when Mary lay Him in the manger. But today, I like to think of the celebration with horns making a grand announcement. Like I usually do on Christmas morning when I put in Handel's Messiah CD and blast the Hallelujah Chorus.

I hate to see our Twelve Days of Christmas has come to an end. I hope you've had as much fun as I have.

Today, I'd like to wish you a merry Christmas! I hope you're having a wonderful day with family and friends as you celebrate the birthday of the baby Jesus.

And if you have a moment, I hope you'll share with us your favorite gift you GAVE this year. :)

Blessings,

Missy

  2. I hate to see it end too! I've really enjoyed it. As for the best gift given I have to tell the best gift received because it was from my new daughter-in-law Heidi. She knew how hard it was for me to get pictures of my two sons and she also knew how much it would mean to me so she got my son's together, dressed nice and had photos taken and framed. It was the best present anyone could have given me. And all the thought that went into it meant so much to me. And my son's (who hate to have their pictures taken) were so thrilled with what they'd done when they saw how much it meant to me.
Anyway, it just goes to show gifts from the heart are the best gifts.

    Merry Christmas everyone!

  3. This HAS been great fun, the 12 days of Christmas theme. I'm amazed again and again at the gift of words you all have!
The gift I enjoyed giving the most this year was the stuffed animals that were our boys' toys when they were small. My husband brought a big stack of them in, we washed them up, and then sent the boys their own child-toys. We have not heard from them yet but the day is young. We also sent them a little close to THE day so perhaps they didn't get the packages yet.

  4. The best gift that I gave this year was to help my son and his wife. I contributed in various ways in assisting them to purchase their first house and they are happy in their new home.

  5. Lovely post today. Thanks so much. The best gift that I gave was a homecooked 5 course meal to a good friend whose sweetness and friendship I cherish. She was so appreciative and surprised.

  6. I have enjoyed this greatly. Thanks. Since I am an art teacher, I gave one of my watercolors to a neighbor. She always admired my work and I wanted her to enjoy this painting in her house. Happy holidays.

  7. The best gift I gave this year was also the best gift I received. I was able to spend Christmas Eve with my parents at their farmhouse near Abilene, Kansas.

Merry Christmas, everyone. May the Light of the World shine bright for all to see.

  8. Happy holidays and thanks for your inspiring posts.
My favorite gift that I gave was a cookbook. It may sound not in the least unique but this individual was always cooking up a storm and needed new motivation so I gave this gorgeous cookbook which was exceptional.

  10. The best gift I gave is a digital frame to my mother in law and one to my husband who wanted pictures of the family and most of them are on my computer. These pictures won't be stuck in a drawer like so many of our snapshots from the past, but the frame is displayed in the living room and will give us hours of joy.
Tired but content after playing with my three granddaughters all day.

  11. Merry Christmas ladies! I'm sure you all have had fun posting these 12 Days of Christmas and I've enjoyed reading them. ~ The gift I enjoyed giving the most this year certainly wasn't anything fancy or expensive, but the recipient was SO appreciative. The crossing guard in front of my Son's high school risks her life every school day to keep everyone safe, so I prepared a gift bag of assorted candy, cookies, etc. and wrote a special note to her. I am thankful for the job she does! ~ Blessings, Patti Jo :)

  12. You know, it would be hard to pick one gift. But, sometimes you do find the perfect one. I got my critique group a box for pens. The top is a bunch of pens and scribed on the side is the saying, "The writer must write what he has to say, not speak it." Quoted from Ernest Hemingway. Wow

  13. Y'all were so wonderful to share about your gifts yesterday! I was an absolute slug yesterday. Took two naps! So I never did get online. :)

My favorite gift to give was a donation to World Vision that would buy 5 soccer balls for children in Africa. I did it in my son's honor. He went on a mission trip to Kenya in 2006, and one of the things that really touched him was how much it meant to the orphanage kids that they brought a real soccer ball for them to play with (instead of rolled up trash and string). So it meant a lot to him to know those balls had been sent in his name.

  19. Great post today.

I'd have to say my favorite give I gave this year was money. Me and my sweet hubby took a small stack of twenty dollar bills and drove around town blessing those who were wandering the streets on Christmas Eve.

Some were in bus stops, some were working...things like that.

It's the first time we've done that, and I loved it. To bless others, by surprise, was such a fun gift for me to give.

    God bless.
