Juggling with Janet Tronstad

It's me -- Janet Tronstad again. This morning in church our pastor talked about how we often feel we're juggling in our lives (and he had a real juggler there to perform - which was neat). I so related to what he was saying. Somedays I don't know which way I am going - it just seems there are so many things I need to be doing. How about you? What things are you juggling? For me, it's my elderly parents, my writing, my friends (one of whom is in the hospital and another who is busy deciding to move out of Los Angeles - both of which need some extra time from me). And those are only the things that come to mind first. I also have a big list of things I ought to be doing (like sorting through a big stack of paper waiting for me when I came back from my last trip -- and still sitting where it was then).

  1. My juggling includes a husband with health issues, his mom with health issues, an active harvest season for our honey, and all the regular stuff that goes with keeping a home going. One of the real pleasures I'm juggling is making time for my granddaughter. Add a dog and a cat. That's enough.

  2. Beemama, I'm so fascinated by your honey harvest. Didn't know there was a certain time of year to do that!

Last year was my most manic year of juggling-a terminally ill father, a full time job, a newly adopted child, and a heavy writing schedule. I almost feel leisurely since May, though I still have my heavy writing schedule and the teen daughter who is in everything and keeps me running.

  3. Beemama -- I'm with Linda on this, totally fascinated with you harvesting your honey. You do have your hands full though.

  4. Wow, Linda, I am in awe that you could keep it together with so many things.

  5. You're all making me tired! Life is too complicated many days. But how do we simplify?

  6. I'm with beemama on the granddaughter front. They live far away, so it's an all-day affair just to get there on a plane. My mother-in-law's health has been poor this past year, and I have spent a lot of time running her to doctors many of which were an hour away one way. Now she's in a nursing home for rehab after surgery. So hubby and I go up almost every day to see her. Right now I'm trying to do much-neglected yard work because the weather has finally cooled down. Somewhere in there I fit in the writing. So, Janet, I completely understand the juggling thing.

  7. Lyn -- How do we simplify? That is the million dollar question. It sounds to me from listening to everyone that the things we are all juggling are important things. I just don't know how we simplify.

  8. Merrilee -- You do have a lot on your plate. I know you know juggling.
