So I hope you'll share the excitement with me. It's kind of like seeing another child born. Something that started as an idea, a one liner, I call it. That grows into a proposal that my editor buys. That then grows into a full book that I turn in by a certain deadline. That gets revised and edited several times. That gets a title and cover. And that then gets shipped to book club subscribers and stores.
Wow, I'm tired from giving birth again! LOL I hope you'll enjoy the story. :)
Here's a blurb:
When Faith Hagin sees widower cop Gabe Reynolds every day in her coffee shop, she can’t help but feel for the struggling single dad. She’s raised a teenager of her own—and sadly, knows what not to do. But thanks to his matchmaking preteen daughter, Chelsea, the whole town’s praying for Gabe to find a wife!
Even though Faith thinks she’s content being just friends, spending time with him and Chelsea starts to feel like a fresh start at having a family. And their love may be the answer to everyone’s prayers.
A Family for Faith should be in stores any day now.

ReplyDeleteIt's 7 a.m. here, and I'm thinking you were early enough.
ReplyDeleteI also feel I should be getting you a Books R Us gift card for after the birthing.
Sounds like a great read!
ReplyDeleteI'll be able to check your new "kid" soon.
ReplyDeleteBookdepository sent yesterday an email saying the editor had made the book available and I'd receive it soon.
Looking forward...
LOL, Pamela! Gifts are welcome. ;)
ReplyDeleteThanks, Merrillee!
Teresa, I'm glad! Can you tell us a little about BookDepository? Is it an online bookseller?
ReplyDeleteHi Missy:
ReplyDeleteYou’ve just given me a marketing idea for a "How To Book" on writing a novel:
Prenatal Vitamins
for
Birthing Your Novel!
49 Ways to Keep your WIP strong & Healthy.
BTW: Do you find it hard to say which book you love best?
Vince
Hi Missy congrats on the new book am waiting til its available at christian book so I can finish my order there. It looks good.
ReplyDeleteI love it, Vince! You should go for it. :)
ReplyDeleteRegarding favorites... I've always had trouble deciding. But this one grabbed me from the beginning. Of course, now I have to hope every new book becomes the new favorite! :)
Thanks you for holding your order for it, Jenny! I hope they'll release it soon there since it's already available on Amazon, etc.
ReplyDeleteChristian book says about the 6th of april not sure why so long.
ReplyDeleteI saw that, Jenny. I don't know why the difference unless they use a distributor that has different shipping dates.
ReplyDeleteMissy, I remember meeting you long ago before you birthed your first book. Then I actually judged some of your chapters in a contest. I knew you'd be here one day. I can always tells the ones who are serious and gifted. I'm so proud of you. I love it when a new girl shows up around here. Or guy--Vince--hear that. There is nothing like having a book published, whether it's your first or ... your 50th. You rock.
ReplyDeleteYou're sweet, Lenora. I remember being at a workshop with you at RWA sometime before I sold, and you were kind enough to introduce me to your editor and brag on my writing. I was a nervous wreck, but so thankful you were that generous! :)
ReplyDeleteMissy: "Can you tell us a little about BookDepository? Is it an online bookseller?"
ReplyDeleteYes, it is.
It's placed in UK, so I tend to get the books available a bit later than in USA but it compensates because they don't charge for delivery so, that way, I can buy more books with the price other online sellers charge to send them for Portugal ;).
And the book has arrived
Thanks for the info, Teresa! I'm glad it got there!! :)
