Finally 100 by Leann Harris

This has been a strange summer in this part of Texas. May and June have been cool and pleasant. The high was in mid-July was in the 80's. I wanted to dance at five in the afternoon and work in the garden. The gorgeous weather came to an end. Yesterday we had our first 100 degree day. The rest of the week will over a 100 degree. Of course, Europe is enduring 100+ heat and there is no air conditioning. How's your summer been?

  1. Hi Leann! Your flowers are beautiful. We had a little heat wave here in Connecticut. I think the hottest day was 96 but felt like 100. I much prefer 80 degrees. Summer is speeding by way too fast for my liking. Blessings.

  2. I enjoy warm weather, although 100-plus is a bit too hot even for me. I may write Amish stories, but I enjoy air-conditioning.

Who remembers pre-AC summers? I remember visiting my grandmother who didn't have air conditioning. Of course, my husband's brother and wife live in Marin County, just over the Golden Gate Bridge from San Fran, and still don't have air-conditioning. Most days they don't need it.

We definitely need air-conditioning in Georgia where I live.

    Happy August, everyone!

  4. But it's a dry heat--LOL! At least that's what I keep telling myself. Hot as it is, though, I'm mighty glad to be back in Texas!

  5. We had some brutally hot days earlier this summer - heat index well above 100 - but lately it's been much nicer. AC is running today due to the humidity though. What beautiful flowers. So delicate and lacy. Irises?
