I especially loved my heroine, JoBeth McCoy. She's feisty and fearless...well, almost fearless. She does have a little trouble expressing her feelings. But when she does, stand back! Our hero, Garrett, truly sees Jo's beauty and spirit.
4 ½ stars from RT Magazine
THE MARSHAL’S READY-MADE FAMILY (4.5) by Sherri Shackelford: The death of her parents brings 5-year-old Cora to live with her uncle, Marshal Garrett Cain. When she first arrives in Cimarron Springs, Kan., Jo Beth McCoy takes Cora under her wing. Jo would love to have a little girl like Cora, but her independent spirit and her upbringing with five younger brothers have made her too unladylike for the local men. When a cousin threatens to take Cora away, Jo realizes that marrying Garrett can help him keep Cora while giving her the family she longs for. A lovely marriage-of-convenience story, the interaction between the two main characters is a joy to watch, and the hero’s acceptance of love is well done.
