Cheryl Wyatt here to say: Your Readership is a Blessing

Hi all! Cheryl Wyatt here.

Ten years ago I was an avid reader of Love Inspired novels. Some of the authors on this site were and still are among my favorites.

Who knew that ten years later, I would have the great privilege of being among them?

As you know by previous posts, several of us recently returned from the American Christian Fiction Writers conference in Denver. One thing the keynote speaker deposited in us through her inspiring talks was to remember to be thankful every day for even the little things.

Sometimes in the midst of deadlines I forget to remember what it's like without deadlines. Debbie Macomber's talk brought me back to the beginning of my quest for publication and helped me to remember a day I dreamed for this yet never imagined it could become a reality.

Another thing Debbie taught us was to dream big no matter how old we are.

What do you dream for?

What are you afraid to dream for?

Why?

Remember that we serve the God of all hope who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly beyond all that we can think or imagine. (Eph 3:20)

I pray you dream big today and everyday and that you remember to be thankful for the little things.

I can't tell you what an honor it was to be able to sit next to one of my author mentors and now friend, Margaret Daley at the ACFW booksigning.

These LI ladies live the faith they write about in their books. Each of them are remarkable in the way they reach out to newer authors like myself.

I'm so thankful to be here...and we are so thankful for your readership that keeps us here and able to write books we hope you will love.

Hugs all!

Cheryl Wyatt

  1. Cheryl, I remember stumbling into the eHarlequin boards back in 2001 or so and bumping up against this person called squirrel. Had no idea, at the time, who she, or several other people who have gone to publish, was.
But I remember your can-do, encouraging spirit, and it's a blessing to read your books.

  3. I'll try again....

Hi Cheryl! Great blog! Thanks for posting the link on Facebook! I remember those days when you were still seeking publication, too. I remember how excited we all were when you got The Call! And guess what: we're still excited for you! It's a blessing to be able to call you (and Margaret and others) friend!

    Hugs!

PS One of the above words was misspelled, and came out being somewhat less than savory... I'll let you guess which one. Anyway, all fixed now. Let's hope none of my serious typos never make it into print! *blush*

  5. Hope, same goes for you, girl! Can't wait to be able to celebrate your first sale too! There is enormous support on the eharlequin boards for aspiring authors.

I can't ever seem to log in...Dream tried to help me but it doesn't recognize my password. I might have to re-register because I really miss hanging out there.

Hugs all! Thanks so much for stopping by and for your support. Can't wait to return the favor!

  6. Nice post Cheryl!

I have loved the many opportunities that I have been given to "speak" with you. You are a wonderful person and a great friend. I expect many more GREAT things to come from Cheryl Wyatt! I look forward to continue talking with you and hopfully/ultimately getting to meet you at some point! Lol! Can you imagine the two of us together!? I'm sure it'd be crazy...it'd be that way with me and any of the LI authors. You all are a crazy, kooky bunch, but I love you all anyway!

  7. Cheryl, I'm still kind of in a "daze" from all the wonderful activity at the ACFW Conference! Meeting YOU (finally!) was a highlight of my Conference experience - - you are such a sweetheart. Blessings as your writing career continues and grows, sweet friend. Hugs from Georgia, Patti Jo (fellow squirrel-lover, LOL)

  11. I don't know if you've seen the new Seekers post today, but the main picture is a pieve of rope that is running very thin in the middle...lol! That's exactly what I'm talking about people!

  12. Hannah, how are your wrists? You had surgery recently, right?

    Hope you feel better soon!

  13. Wow Cheryl! Great memory! Yes, I had carpal tunnel surgery on August 6 for right side and August 27 for left side. I am slowly recovering. Still doing physical therapy for at least another 3 weeks, 2 times per week. It is really tiring! Lol...plus I have school and now college "stuff"! BUT I'm not complaining. I also have rheumatoid arthritis and by doing the surgery where they actually cut me open, they found out a lot about the RA. For instance, I have been diagnosed for 2 years now. However, the whole time my doctor has not been treating me correctly so that explains the constant pain! I am 17 years old but my wrists are bad enough(on the inside) to look like at least a 40 year old woman who has done stressful work on her wrists for her whole life. Not kidding! That's what the surgeon told me. So, I'm going to a new rheumatologist. So, that's good that we're getting to the bottom of this *fingers crossed!*

However, right now I'm in the middle of a flare up. This means that my hands and especially fingers are really achey and sore, it's hard to do things like writing(holding the pen/pencil) and holding things. I have cold-like symptoms such as a headache for about 5 days straight now and just feeling slow, tired, and groggy. But, we'll figure it out : )
Thanks for asking and sorry for talking your ear off, but you asked!! *wink*

  15. Awww...thanks so much Cheryl! You are so warm, kind, and loving : ) All the LI authors are.

Guess what!? The Extreme Home Makeover people are doing a house 1 town over from me this week. Lol! Funny coincedence....had to tell you after you had the book on your blog : ) I'm hoping that we'll make it over to help, but I can't be much of a help : / But I'll do what I can!

  16. That's awesome, Hannah.

EMHE is awesome for what they do to change the lives of people and give them homes.

At least you'll maybe get to stand in the crowd and say, "Welcome Home!"

    Hugs
    Cheryl
