What We're Reading

I just finished reading: Seaside Secrets by Dana Mentick

I am currently reading: nothing yet

Next, I plan to read: Lady in the Mist by Laurie Alice Eakes
Barbara Phinney

I just finished reading:Once a Soldier by Mary Jo Putney. Taking a break from my cowboy binge to read a long-time favorite author.

I am currently reading: One Night Charmer by Maisey Yates (the cowboy binge continues). Lots of emotion in this story (and others I've read by her).

Next, I plan to read: A Summer to Remember, the latest in Marilyn Pappanos Tallgrass series.
Jean C. Gordan

I just finished reading:  The Days of Noah by Virginia Smith
An interesting and inventive look at what the world was like as Noah was preparing for the great flood.  Told from the point of view of Noah's son Shem and a priestess of the surrounding country.  Fascinating and engaging.

I am currently reading:  Gilead by Marilynne Robinson
A writer friend recommended it because of the stunning writing.  She was right.  A million quotable passages, gorgeous phrases, deep wisdom.  There's a reason it won a Pulitzer.

Next, I plan to read: When Breath Becomes Air by Paul Kalanithi
I've heard so many good things about this memoir, I'm looking forward to reading it.
Allie Plieter

I just finished reading: Jane Eyre. It's been a busy month for me so I didn't get much reading time--even though I was technically listening to this on Audible.

What I'm reading now: On Audible, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. I've never read the books or seen any of the movies (ducking the rocks I know some people will want to throw at me.)

What I plan to read next: Made to Crave. I don't read a lot of non-fiction but I've heard this one is life-changing. This is kind of pathetic since school just ended and I had very little time for reading in June. Sooooo sad.
Deb Kastner

I just finished reading: Last of the books for a contest. DONE! Also, hopefully, by the time this goes up, I will have just finished reading the draft of my current mss.

I am currently reading: A whole bunch of different books:  Susan Meissner's "The Shape of Mercy," Susannah Kearsley's "The Rose Garden," Marta Perry's "Where Secrets Sleep," and Linda Castillo's "Sworn to Silence."

Next, I plan to read: Rachel Dylan's "Incriminating Evidence" (as soon as it arrives).
Cate Nolan

I just finished reading: Luther and Katharina by Jody Hedlund. I've been a huge fan of Jody's books for years. I loved this book because it was about how Martin Luther fell in love with Katharina von Bora, a former nun. It also brought to life the conditions in Wittenberg, Germany after the Reformation. An excellent novel.

I am currently reading: A Match Made in Alaska by Belle Calhoune. This Love Inspired has one of the best covers I've ever seen. I'm about halfway through the book. It's full of adventure. The characters are so fun to read, and there's a bit of mystery I  can't wait to figure out!

Next, I plan to read: Anything by Jen Turano. I've heard great things about her books but have never read one!
Jill Kimerer

I just finished: No Biz Like Showbiz, a Lexi Carmichael mystery.  This is a series and I’m reading them one right after the other because they are so good.  I bought book six at the Romantic Times convention and on page three, I realized I had to read them in order because they were so good.

What I’m reading now: The Beatles, Elvis, and Sinatra.  Not mentioning the author here.  This is a Bookbud cheap or free read.  Can’t remember which, but there are soooo many errors that were it a paperback, I’d throw it across the room. By errors, I mean I’m reading a sentence and the second half of the sentence has nothing to do with the first.  It’s like a whole paragraph disappeared.  I do love hearing about the old Ed Sullivan show and behind the scenes stuff, so I’ll keep reading.

What I’m reading next:  Lexi Carmichael mystery number six.
