Lyn Takes a Bow or Should that be a Curtsey?

I want you to know that Pamela Tracy told me to BRAG about myself. Now I'm not perfect but I do know Christians are never supposed to BRAG about themselves. However this is a blog and on this blog we celebrate Love Inspired romance and the authors and the readers. So I guess it's okay to take a bow, curtsey, or blow my own horn.

As Pamela has posted to the right, I won the Carol Award for Short Historical in this year's American Fiction Writers published award, named for Carol Johnson. (I wrote about that on the 22nd.)

This win was an encouragement to me. I will have written and published 36 books as of this October. I have finaled in several (not many) contests. But I hadn't won since 2001. That's a long time!

So I don't think I'll get the big head. :-) Especially since I broke part of my plaque for the award on the way home. Why do these things happen to me? (I have managed to glue the little piece back on!)

I'm really happy that my heroine Mercy and her hero Lon touched hearts in Her Healing Ways, the final book in my Gabriel Sisters series.

Here's a list of the other winners. You might like their books! Have you read any by any of the other winners?

  1. Lyn, I know you are so excited about your win. I don't think it's bragging. I think of it as being really excited and thankful. So sorry about your plaque. That's the kind of thing that happens to me. Wow, you're written a lot of books! I know you feel so blessed.

  5. I'm not sure I'd read any of the winners, actually, but I def. want to pick up your book!
Thanks so much for introducing yourself to me at the LI meet and greet. I really appreciated your sweet friendliness. :-) (I was the tall girl, one of them, at least, lol)

  9. Merrillee,
And I'm buying it on my Kindle.

  10. Jessica, I remember you! And Merrillee and Pamela, you're sweet. For some reason, there are still print copies selling, especially in L.A. Since it's a Dec 2010 book, I'd think the print copies would be all gone. Interesting.

  14. Hi Lyn:

In Oklahoma we have a saying, “It’s not bragging if you can do it”. : ) (Also, it’s had to be humble when you’re a Sooner).

I watched you win on my computer the other night! You wrote the first inspirational romance I ever read, my wife loves your shawl, (she thinks it is a shawl) and I have five of your autographed books! You just had to win. Many more!

  17. Congratulations, Lyn! I was also able to see you accept your award on the live blog/video! It was really neat to get to share in the festivities along with you all.

Of the winning books, I've read Predator by Terri Blackstock, Anything but Normal by Melody Carlson, and The Silent Order by Melanie Dobson (one of my favorites in 2010.)

  20. Vince, you always say such lovely compliments. And if she want it to be a shawl, it's a shawl!

Thanks to everyone for the kind words. You warmed my heart!
