Spring Has Sprung
Hi, this is Margaret Daley here. I'm amazed at how early spring has started this year--weeks, if not a month earlier than usual. I can't say that I'm upset about it because I don't care much for winter. Spring is my favorite season. I love seeing everything bloom after a bleak winter. Some of the days are perfect--temperature around 70-75 degrees, a blue sky, flowers everywhere. The colors in the landscape are vivid. The birds are singing.
But no matter how great spring is, there is a downside to my favorite season--in Oklahoma the threat of tornadoes, flooding and allergies acting up badly. With everything there is two sides.
So what is your favorite season? Why?

Thank God for Spring. In my side of the world, we are already longing for rain. Everywhere is dry.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season is Winter, because in Arizona, Winter is when you can get outside and relax. We're pretty dry right now, too.
ReplyDeleteMine is fall. I love the crisp mornings and harvest!
ReplyDeleteI love fall. We are out of hurricane season then here in NC. Well, most of the time. And the harvests, the food.
ReplyDeleteSpring only lasts two weeks and then we have summer. Winter I would like if we had more snow and less ice.
Peace, Julie
It's dry here, too. We didn't have a lot last year either.
ReplyDeleteThis year we had spring in mid February to mid March. Now it feels like June with 90 degree weather. It's not looking like we will have much spring this year. I can't believe how hot it already is.
Margaret, I understanding the blessing and curse of Spring. When we were living in Lubbock, tornadoes warning on the TV were weekly events.
ReplyDeleteGood looking flowers.
ReplyDeleteI love every season. The only month I usually don't like is March because all our snow melts and MUD. And most restaurants and some stores close because it's the lull between the winter snowmobiling season and the summer tourist season.
ReplyDeleteThis year March was different of course!
I love spring and summer! The return of sunshine and warmer weather is always welcome here! :)
ReplyDeleteI love hearing everyone's favorite season and why.
ReplyDeleteLeann,
ReplyDeleteI lived in Lubbock for awhile. I attended Lubbock Christian College and then graduated from Texas Tech. What I remember are the dust storms, and we'd say, "Abilene's blowing in."
Definitely spring. But then again here in Arizona, even our winter is like spring. Summer on the other hand.........is hot but all the snowbirds go home and we can drive the roads again.
ReplyDeleteSpring and summer are my favorites! I don't like cold weather, so the warming up is such a relief.
ReplyDeleteAlthough, this year we pretty much skipped spring and went right to summer in Georgia! It was supposed to hit nearly 90 today.
I have to say summer. Its longer day. I dont like winter and the gloomy weather. spring is good but often arrives late. i love temps around the high 80's. we dont have it very humid so thats much better. Summer also is cricket Season and Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite season is summer because I love hot weather--good thing since I live in Florida. Today was very warm, so I worked in the yard, walked on the beach and did some clean-up in the pool. We are going to start swimming early this year.
ReplyDeleteJenny, I keep forgetting you live down under and Christmas is your summer.
ReplyDeleteMargaret I think regardless of where I lived Summer would be my favourite unless its somewhere with High Humidity then it would be spring. I really dont like the dull days. Also Winter means more work, collecting wood, chopping wood etc for the fire. Also drying clothes is harder as Ihave to dry them in front of the fire.
ReplyDeleteFor me summer is my favorite season. At least summer here in the Pacific Northwest summer here is probably like what most places have as spring. Our spring here is soggy and cold. In fact from about mid-Oct to somewhere in May its soggy and cold. Then we get a little spring with some rain. The rain usually stops after 4th of July then we warm up to the 70's-80's for three months and some much needed vitamin D.
ReplyDeleteSummer is my favorite...love the longer days and sunshine. We had a very mild winter...2 inches of snow total...and Spring has sprung! I'm already eating radishes out of my garden and I've got a pretty good start on my tan. =)
