Happy November. Make a joyful noise--Lenora Worth

I can't believe it's November already. On the one hand, I'm so ready for next week to pass. I don't want to get into politics, but I'm ready to focus on being thankful for what's right in the world instead of hearing everyone bickering about what's wrong.

But enough about that. I'm here to celebrate some of the beauty of fall and find out what's happening with the rest of you. If you visited the Love Inspired Harvest Festival on the Harlequin website a few weeks ago, you probably heard some of this there. Fall is a great time to regroup and settle down and snuggle up. Hot chocolate and s'mores, football and falling leaves, good books and crisp breezes in the air. Taking a long walk on a pretty path. Thanking God for the bounty of the earth.

Since I just finished a book ahead of deadline, I'm in a cooking mood. Gumbo, French bread, maybe some pumpkin bread and other yummy fall foods. Red velvet brownies, maybe?

And my favorite--pie:

What are your plans for fall?
Do you find you read a different type of book as the season changes?
What are some of your favorite fall foods?
I hope you have a great fall. As we go into the holiday season, I hope we cling to these verses from Psalms 95:

"Oh, come let us sing to the Lord;
let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!"

Thanksgiving and songs of praise. Joy. I pray we always find the JOY!

  1. Fall isn't my favourite time of year, but you make it sound so pretty. I love that centrepiece! Where did you get it?

    1. Hi, Babara. I think I got that at Kirkland's. I've had it for years. Always love bringing it out.

  2. It's finally beginning to feel a lot more like Fall here in Texas. I'm so looking forward to Thanksgiving and Christmas. I'm already thinking of ways to make the house look more festive and I think I'll try reading a few Christmas romances this year. There's so many out there.

  3. Fall is my favorite time of year. It includes my birthday, our anniversary, our son's birthday, and the month I sold my first book (October 1999), as well as all of the holidays. As for fall foods, fall is the time we turn to soups, chili, and spaghetti.

  4. I bought winter pansies yesterday and was almost too late. Few to choose from, but I came home with enough plants to decorate my deck and front porch. It's still warm in GA, which is one reason I wasn't thinking of the fall/winter plants. Tomorrow we should have more "normal" temps for this time of year.

    My grands are taking part in their fall baseball tournaments that are so fun to watch!

    Love the changing colors of the leaves.

    November is a time of gratitude for me. I'm giving thanks this year, as always, for my wonderful family, for friends, for health, for being able to write for Love Inspired Books and for the readers who encourage me with their support.

    Do I smell a turkey roasting in the oven? :)

    1. Debby, my mums could use a good rain. It's warm and dry here in the Panhandle. I can't wait for turkey. Big D smokes ours on the grill all day. Right now, I'm cooking gumbo for the LSU/Alabama game tomorrow!

  5. For me in oz its spring with not too warm weather that I love. Types of books I read are more to do with life situation I seem to like suspense when I'm going through hard times. Historical or book by favourite author anytime. Right now I'm more craving a holiday trip to plan but circumstances are preventing me from an exact date so reading fiction is helping me cope.
