December? Christmas Already?

Where did the time go? I can't believe it is Christmas time already! This year we are going home for Christmas. Home for me is Oklahoma. Yes, I live in New Mexico but Mama lives in Oklahoma. See the connection?

I love Christmas. For the past couple of years I have put up our smaller tree. This is a picture from last year but this year will be no different. Normally my tree is up and I'm ready, but this year well... time got away from me. I still can't believe it is so close to Christmas! Can you?

One of my favorite things about the month of December is the Love Inspired Books that come out each year. We've already seen many wonderful Christmas books this year on the shelves by our favorite authors. This month I am so happy to be sharing shelf space with Winnie Griggs, Linda Ford and Jo Ann Brown.

The twins, Rose and Ruby, are back this month in A Convenient Christmas Bride. It was hard saying goodbye to them at the end of the book but I know they are happy.

So am I the only one who thinks December and Christmas came early this year?

  1. I still have all my presents to buy, I was half-way there this time last year. The year has flown

  2. I'm done with presents but need to put up the tree.

  3. It will probably take me a week to get all my decorations done. I started the day after Thanksgiving, and I'm still working on them. Do you think I have too many decorations?

  4. Scraproni - I don't have a lot to buy but have a couple of things I still want to get for my sweet husband.

Pamela - I have my stockings up and stuffed but still need to get the tree up. Normally it's up the day after Thanksgiving.

Merrillee- Is there such a thing as too many decorations? I don't think so :)

  5. I'm right there with you, Rhonda. I told my husband this morning as I took him to work, "How can it be December already, let alone almost the end of 2015 already."

I usually have decorated well before now and start playing Christmas music as early as July.... Not the case this year. I'm way behind and I'm not sure if I'll catch up. :)

    Congrats on your new book.

  7. I am almost done with shopping. Decorating is lagging far behind this year, and I am still trying to locate some of my favorite decorations....I can't remember where I stored them. This is a problem. The time does seem to be rushing by.

  8. Such a cute cover! I have a few gifts purchased but not much else done. Books to write. Oh well :)

  9. Time always gets away from me before Christmas, yet somehow it all pulls together. Wishing everyone a blessed Christmas season.

  10. The older I get, the faster time seems to go by. Christmas celebrations become seemingly closer and closer. If only I had known this when I was a young girl and felt like Christmas would never arrive. =)

  11. This year has flown by, so yes, it does seem that Christmas has come quickly. I'm excited to see another book with the twins. I love your cover! Any chance you'll get up to Tulsa while you're in OK?

  12. I, for one, am amazed that it's Christmas again. Looks like a couple more months and I'd be ready. I know your book will be as good as ever. Enjoy your time with your mom.

  13. Michelle- I have that same problem. Can't find some of my stuff.

Thanks Angela I love the twins and seeing them on the cover makes me happy.

Christine - I love to see the final project when I get it all pulled together :)

Keli you made me smile :) I remember wishing Christmas would hurry.

  14. Vickie, not sure about making it all the way to Tulsa but maybe we can meet in Muskogee one day for lunch :)

Jacqueline, I could use a couple more months, too. I want to extend the season.

  15. Christmas?? Thank goodness I didn't miss it. Okay, today - down with the Thanksgiving, up with the Christmas. This year we're celebrating our parents' artistry. Mother made ceramic Christmas trees and angels of various colors and sizes. Dad made nativity scenes. Ordered the Kindle version of "A Convenient Christmas Bride" this morning. I'm looking forward to reading it after December 15th. Give your mom a hug from us.

  19. Hi Rhonda, I'm so excited about your newest book. I can't wait to read it!! I agree that Christmas rolls around very quickly these days. I've returned to the Capitol today to work from now until the end of session, so I have bought all but one gift and wrapped half of them.

  20. I'm pretty much done. Only have my husband to find a gift for but he's so hard to find something that I think he'll enjoy.
I gave my son his major present already--tickets to his favorite band's concert at the beginning of Nov. I usually have my tree up the day after Thanksgiving but I have a cold and a deadline. The two don't mix well and the tree has to wait.

  21. Love the cover of this book, Rhonda! And yes, it's all coming too fast. I did get my decorations up--decided if I wanted to enjoy them, Thanksgiving and Christmas might have to share my house for a few days. :) Some shopping done, but more to go. It should be warmer this week. Hopefully, you'll have nice weather when you come home.

  22. Hey Rhonda! I love the cover! Christmas did come a little fast, but I love it and am glad it is here! Of course, fast to me means I didn't start listening to Christmas music until October when I usually start in September and I didn't finish getting my tree up until the day before Thanksgiving instead of the week before. Oh well. :)

  23. Diane, I plan on doing some wrapping tomorrow. Tonight the tree is going up.

Terri, I have a cold too. This is just the season for colds I suppose. I'm sorry you have a cold, get well soon.

Janet, I'm praying the weather clears up and is good when we come. I love to see your decorations. Your house always looks so festive.

Aaron, Hey! Thanks I love that cover too. I love Christmas, as soon as I get everything into place I'm going to make a cup of hot chocolate and watch my Christmas tree lights.
