Let's Discuss Elnora Today!

I'm sorry to say Elnora isn't feeling well and couldn't post today. So I thought we could all take a lesson from her book and practice going into diva mode. Let's talk about how we deserve to be pampered when we're sick!

I imagine Big Daddy takes good care of Elnora when she's under the weather. Can't you just imagine her demanding it? :) What do y'all think? And are you lucky enough to have someone to give you all the sympathy and TLC you need when you get a migraine or the flu or even a pesky cold?

Let's chat!

  1. Poor Elnora! Hope she feels better soon.

My guy has always taken good care of me whether I was morning sick or migraine plagued.

Now is my turn for payback as he may be having shoulder surgery.

Why is it men are great caregivers but such whiney care receivers when they are sick?

    Peace, Julie

  2. Julie, I think men don't like to be incapacitated. They're used to being in control. You'd think that would make them buck up and stand strong, but no. They tend to get irritable. LOL

I love to get a little TLC when I'm sick! Although I have to say that when the kids were young, I pretty much had to keep going. Nowadays, I get a little more sympathy. :) Kids and hubby will bring me ice packs for a migraine or some Motrin. :)

Of course, if I have anything contagious, most everyone acts like I have the plague. ;)

  3. Hmmmm...watching TV is probably my self-pampering. I don't normally watch TV because I think about all the things I COULD be doing...but if you're sick :) It's on!

  5. I pray that Elnora gets better soon. May her strenght be renewed like the eagles. May she go from strenght to strengt in Jesus name.

The chastisement of your peace is upon HIM Elnora and by HIS stripes you are made whole.

It is well with you Mum.

  6. Y'all are so sweet. I'm still in a lot of pain. Yesterday was the worst. In bed all day. I had another lovely trip to the ER. Remember my NY ER adventure? This ER wasn't as friendly as the one in NY but they did try to help me. Morphine is a really good drug! I'm not sure how a tiny backache could turn into something so painful, but stress, even good stress, probably had a lot to do with it. And yes, Big Daddy has been a prince as usual. Bringing me food and drink and my medications and setting up a table by the bed so I had everything. Even bringing a ladder into the room to make the tv higher so I could see! He is now at the grocery store. We have new refrigerator and washer/dryer in and got a new mattress (which I lay upon all day yesterday!) Thanks, Missy, for stepping in. And what a topic!!! I did manage to get a shower and put a little color on this morning. That's Southern for lipstick! I only look half-dead now!!! Thanks again to everyone.

  7. Oh, Lenora, you poor thing! But at least you have your lipstick. :)

You know, my mom still checks me out every time I see her, and she sometimes says I need a little color. ;)

  8. Sherri, TV is a good buddy while stuck on the couch or in bed sick. :)

  9. Lenora, I hope you are doing better. Bad backs can be so painful. Thankfully, I've never been sick much, but when I am my hubby is right there to make me feel better.

  11. Elnora, feel better! Praying for you.
My hubby and kids are great when I'm down. And I too love to have the comfort of the TV to distract me for whatever ailment has me on the couch.

  13. Elnora,
We're glad you're feeling better. Years ago I went to the ER for my back and after the morphine I flew home LOL

  14. Missy,

  15. Ugg, my big daddy doesn't notice I'm sick until I collapse and then he looks askew at our six year old and says, "It's now all up to me!" LOL. But, he's always been there. He's just such a, a, guy!

  17. Would you believe my own posts went into my SPAM folder. Arrgh. That happens a lot with this blog. I'm spamming myself! Big D grilled hamburgers and baked sweet potato fries last night. Pretty good! He didn't unfreeze enough fries for Elnora, however. Love me some sweet potatoe fries! But I am not complaining! I ate every bit of it!
