A PRAYER FOR FATHERS

On this day set aside to honor fathers,

We give thanks to God for the special men in our lives,

For our own fathers,

The fathers of our children,

And fathers within our

Extended families and communities.

Protect them, Lord, from harm,

Strengthen them in time of need,

And direct their steps that they

May always walk in holiness and grace.

Lord, we lift up those who mourn

The loss of their fathers

Or the fathers of their children.

May they find comfort in the promise

Of Eternal Life.

Amen.
