Celebrating Mothers!

May is one of those beautiful months. The bleakness of winter is replaced by new life everywhere. Spring wildflowers become God’s special gift to each of us. And it’s the month we set aside to celebrate another gift from God. Our mothers.

They’re there for us from our first breath. They nurse our scrapes. Wipe away our tears. Are with us when we’re sick, or sad, or happy, or just need a friendly voice in an unfriendly world. For many of us, they’re the one who taught us about God.

This month, the Ladies of Love Inspired are celebrating mothers of all types.

So, tell us about that special woman in your life. Is she your mom, mother-in-law, sister, aunt, someone who has played an important part in your life. We’d love to hear how your mom changed your life.

In honor of Mother’s Day, we will be giving away TWO gift basket of books provided by each of your favorite Love Inspired authors. To enter, just tell us about that special mother in your life.

The contest will be open through Mother’s Day, May 12th, when two commenters will be selected as winners!

Here is a list of authors and books that will be given away.

  5. My mom raised 8 children and fostered over 30 children through the years. She is now a grandma of 16 and a great grandma of 9. She truly is an amazing woman. She also babysat at least 6 kids a week and most of them still keep in contact with her.

  6. My Maw as I call her is my boyfriend's mom, but she has taught me so many things over many years about life starting with her and her family introducing me to Jesus and I became saved. She also has taught me different crafts, cooking and tips, and many more things. She is definitely like a 2nd mom to me. I love her like my own and I am so thankful to share a love of reading together and that we have the same taste in books. :)

  7. My Mom is 82 years old. When she was three years old she got polio and has had to wear a full leg brace on her left leg. She never let it slow her down. She has always been a very active member of our church. She loves to crochet. She has always been there for me. I could not ask for a better mother. The Lord has truly blessed me.

  9. I lost my mom 50+ years ago. I had a couple of older siblings that kinda took the place of mom. Now all my family is gone and I am the only one left. I live with my youngest daughter and that keeps me sane.

  11. My mom is the most amazing woman I know! Just about anyone who meets her thinks so too! I could write a book of a 1,000 pages and still not be able to write all she’s done for me and so many others. She doesn’t know the meaning of the word “stranger”, she loves everyone, especially her family. She got breast cancer at 80 years old but that didn’t stop her! She’s 84 and still fighting the good fight! I love her beyond words.

  15. **Not entering to win.

My mother was such a strong, positive force in my life. She was the one who taught us about faith and being prayerful. My mom was a psychiatrist and she worked with many vets who came back scarred and mentally wounded from wars. We lost her way too early to cancer, but her light will forever shine. I miss her encouragement and her profound belief in me and my talents. She died before I became an author but I know she's looking down on me from heaven.

  16. My mom called me the other day asked me if she was a good mom? I immediately said yes you are a good mom. I look back on my life and mom was always working to provide for our family. Time she got up till time she laid her head down only usually out of 4 kids she was up at night too. Usually a kid sick. She get up do breakfast then held a job at a cleaners 8 hours that come home clean and cook. Still have time for our nightly devotion story. Yes mom you was a good mom. Even growing up till now though I don't understand how she treated me. I felt like I was not wanted or loved. Till this day the same feelings are there. I have asked why she dislikes me. But she will only say I am just like my dad. Well I kinda think he is special. I was a daddy's girl. But he showed all of us love his for me was no different. So as a little girl till now you have set me aside for jealousy. Well I finished by telling her I love you mom I always have. I am here when you want it. Yes mom you are a good mom.

  17. My mother is a strong and independent woman who taught me the importance of self-reliance and resiliency. She is 75 years old and lives on her own, takes care of everything, and walks 9 miles a day. She is always positive and looks for the silver linings in all situations. That positivity has had a profound affect on how I view the world and get through stressful situations. Thanks Mom!
