A Holiday Favorite -- Jean C. Gordon

Because a looming deadline has me frazzled, I'm taking the easy blog way out and sharing a recipe for a holiday favorite around here—Thanksgiving, Christmas, birthdays, or any other time.

Almost Fat-free Cheesecake

1-2/3 cup graham cracker crumbs
1/4 cup sugar
8 tablespoons butter or margerine melted
3 pkgs (8 oz each) nonfat cream cheese cubed [or use regular cream cheese]
1-1/2 cups sugar
4 eggs
3 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 cups nonfat sour cream [or use regular sour cream]

Combine graham cracker crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and butter. Press into the bottom and sides of a 10-inch spring from pan. In large mixing bowl, beat cheese until smooth; gradually add 1-1/2 cup sugar, beating until fluffy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour, and lemon juice. Mix well. Fold in one cup of sour cream. Pour into pan. Bake in preheated 325 degree oven for 60 minutes. Turn off oven and leave door ajar for 30 minutes. Combine other cup of sour cream, 2 tablespoons sugar and vanilla. Carefully spread over cheese cake, return to oven for 30 minutes with door ajar (do not reheat oven). Remove from oven, cool, and refrigerate at least 3 hours or over night. If desired, garnish with fruit.

What are you thankful for--Lenora Worth

It's that time of year. November is upon us and I have to stop and think where all the time went this year. I had an eventful year where I enjoyed several writing retreats, some with large groups and some with close friends I've known for years. I also traveled to Denver, Colorado to attend the RWA conference and spend time with friends, editors and my ever-so-wonderful agent. By then, summer was over and I headed to Nashville with a friend to attend the ACFW conference where I visited with friends and got lost in the massive Gaylord Resort dome!

One day home from that, I turned around and headed east to St. Pete, Florida, for Novelist, Inc and more writing adventures with friends. I'm home now for a while but I have two library events coming up this month. It's always fun to spend time with readers in the library!

I've made new friends this years and loved spending time with friends I've know for years. Writing gives me that kind of network. Most of these ladies and a few gentleman writers, have helped me through plots, edits, life and both good and bad times.

So I'm thankful for my writing and reading community. I have plans to see readers and writers next May in New Orleans at the first annual Booklovers Conference! Can't wait for that one. I'm sure I'll have more adventures with readers and writers next year.

I'm thankful for all of you. You keep me going and I love being a part of this writer's life!!

Now tell me what you're thankful for this year!

Wishing you and yours a warm and wonderful Thanksgiving. Blessings!

The Lord has showered me with so many blessing that I can’t begin to list them, but I am most grateful for you, the women and men who read my books. Danki. You have helped keep my dream of being a writer alive and well. (In case you are wondering, the Amish celebrate Thanksgiving much the same as the rest of us.) May the Lord bless you with abundance and love. Happy Thanksgiving.
Patricia Davids

Hope you find you have more blessings this Thanksgiving than you can count. I'm counting family, friends, a career I love, and the fact that kitchen renovations mean someone else gets to cook the turkey this holiday!
Jo Ann Brown

I want to wish you all a happy Thanksgiving. May God be with you.
Margaret Daley

Wishing all of you a blessed Thanksgiving with family and friends. Thank you for your encouragement and support, dear readers, you are the reason we write our stories.

Writing has been the best of all possible worlds for me. For nearly 40 years, I've made a living at my desk at home, raising my children (one with a serious illness), and being deeply involved with my grandchildren. I am so thankful. God has blessed me in so many ways, from agents to editors and especially readers. Blessings on all!
Arlene James

It is easy to take blessings for granted. I know I do. Friends, family, beloved pets, and all the basics that we expect to always be there - until they are not. The first conscious breath of morning air is the beginning of the most amazing gift God will ever give us - life here and the promise of forever. Your day is special because YOU are. Celebrate it with me.
Psalm 107:1 "Oh give thanks to the Lord for He is good!"
Valerie Hansen

As we gather with family and friends I pray you have a blessed and safe
Thanksgiving holiday.
