Reunion Days

Janet Tronstad here, getting ready to make mounds of potato salad for a large family reuinion tomorrow. This is with my mother's family and has the cousins I remember best from my growing up years so there'll be lots of hugging and questions about what everyone has been doing. When we get together, there's anywhere from fifty to a hundred people milling around. I love large, loud families and ours qualifies. I'm also glad the family meets together once a year in the mountains at a cabin my grandparents bought decades ago (as in before I was born). How about you -- do you have any reunions coming up this summer or fall? Family or school?

  1. Your potato sald is making me hungry and I just had breakfast! The Goodnight bunch used to rent a lake place for a whole weekend and it was always the best, best time. After Grandma and Grandpa died we stopped--We need to do that again.

  3. 4th of July was that for our family. We had a large family gathering at our house. It was wonderful fun.

  4. Yes, please share the potatoe salad recipe. We had a family reunion a few years ago, but we need to do it more often. My grandmother used to handle it, but when she passed away, it kind of fell by the wayside. My aunt if trying to resurrect them.

  5. I wish our family had a place to gather. I don't even know where most of my cousins are. But my dh's family always migrated to the northwoods in the summer and still do. So at least we get to see his cousins!

  6. My parents (who raised me) never went to a reunion, not sure there was one. When I found my birth family, I wound up going to a family reunion. Kinda uncomfortable. I was the center of attention because apparently not everyone knew about me. LOL

  7. So Pamela, you were the secret baby! Very appropriate for a romance novelist!
