Look to the Sky

Mindy Obenhaus here, and I don't know about you, but I'm a sky watcher.
To me, the sky is like God's canvas where He paints some glorious works.

There's your basic blue sky with the occasional puffy cloud.
This one is a classic and never goes out of style.

Then there's the eerie night sky with storm clouds rolling in.
As foreboding as it is beautiful.

Oh, but after the storm, God does some of His best, if not most intriguing, work.

There's nothing like a brilliant sunrise to start your day off right.

While a moonlit night invites you to sit back and reflect on the day gone by.

But some of my most favorite skies are when God breaks open His heavenly color palette and paints a masterpiece for all of us to enjoy, blending purples, pinks, oranges and whatever other colors He chooses.

Are you a sky watcher? Do you revel in the paintings done by The Master's hand?

  1. Mindy, what a great post. I love watching the sky. Especially at night with the stars and the moon. The occasional shooting star. God really shows Himself all around us. We just have to slow down and see Him in His works.

  4. Gorgeous! I love them all. And yes, I too, love to study the sky. My son is a physics major, focusing on astrophysics. And I love sharing articles about the stars and new discoveries with him.

  7. I know what you mean, Mary. On a starry night, the sky just feels more vast. I miss that in the city. But, oh, when we get out to the ranch, it's pure magnificence.

  10. Missy, I think you've taken sky watching to another level. Still, the sky is untouched by man. It's all God. Gotta love that.

  12. Merrillee, I might have to check out that group. Not that I'm on FB all that often. As for the pics, it sure helps to always have a camera on me, via my phone.

  13. Such beautiful pictures, Mindy. Thanks for sharing them with us.

I woke this morning to dark clouds and the possibility of rain here in the Sierra Foothills. After a summer of clear skies and soaring temperatures, I'm happy to see an overcast sky and am eager to welcome the raindrops.

  14. Oh, I hear you, Keli. I love rain, but never more than after a long stretch without it. Revel in those clouds.
