All Good Things....

Must come to an end....

Rhonda Gibson here. That was the phrase that was running through my mind in September. Why that phrase? Well, I turned in my last Love Inspired Historical, Baby on Her Doorstep, in September. Honestly, I was devastated.

But then I was reminded that God can make good things into great things. And He has.
I am writing for Winged Publications and have a wonderful editor. Since September I've had another book released, Harvey House Hero and two more will be coming out this year, Match Made in Chocolate and Claire Parker Takes A Cruise.

Baby On Her Doorstep is available this month. Finding a baby on your doorstep can change your life as Laura Lee soon finds out in this fun historical romance. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed writing it, even though it was a bitter sweet writing at the time. Harvey House Hero is also available now and it too is a historical romance. It is the story of one of the Harvey House women and how she found love where she least expected it.

Like me, both of these women find God's love and ways are better than she ever imagined. Jeremiah 29:11 says it all. I love how God takes what we think is the end and turns it into a new beginning. Don't you?

Keeping Cool

Hi Everyone!

Rhonda Gibson here. How many of you are keeping cool this summer? This has been a HOT summer. I've been driving back and forth between New Mexico and Oklahoma. Both are great states and both are HOT. Yes, I'm screaming the word HOT at you. I'll stop now.

But they are different kinds of hot. Oklahoma is a sticky hot. I know some of you will know what I mean. New Mexico is a dry hot.  Even though I am doing lots of traveling between the two states, I am reading a lot this summer to keep cool. I've read about ten books so far. I love reading all year long but find that I read more in the summer.

I've read several LI books and a couple of YA books. I have also read a few non-fictions. See, lots of reading to keep cool.

So tell me what have you been reading? Do you read in the summer? Or are you more of a winter time reader.

I confess I read year round, but read more in the summer to keep cool.

I hope this fall you will pick up a copy of  Pony Express Special Delivery. I'm sad to say that this will be my last Pony Express book for LIH. It will hit the shelves in September!

Until next time,

Happy Reading!

Checking Out A Future Husband

What is the most interesting thing you've ever checked out at the public library?

Rhonda Gibson here and I confess I checked out my husband at the library. He was a senior in high school and I was a sophomore. I spent every afternoon, at our local public library waiting for my mom to get off work. The library was across the street from our high school so it was an easy walk for me. But, not so much for my darling future husband. He'd had a knee operation earlier and because of the cast on his leg wasn't allowed to drive. Lucky me, he decided to start spending his afternoons at the library too while he waited for his mother to get off work. See? We already had something in common, waiting for mothers.

I noticed him the first day he walked in. But, I wasn't visible to him. I'd sit with my friend and admire him across the room. To me he was soooo cute! His light blue eyes were the prettiest I'd ever seen, but they didn't look in my direction. Sigh.

One day, my friend dared me to say hello to him. Even back then, I didn't have a shy bone in my body. He was holding a very large, 1980's, calculator in his hand. In my rush to "meet" him, I asked him if I could play with "his thing" meaning his calculator. It was a match made in embarrassment for both of us.

He overlooked my awkwardness with words and we started dating that summer after school. Two years later, we married on May 27th, 1983.

James Gibson was my hero back then and he's still my hero today.

What's the most interesting thing you've checked out at the library?

Until next time, Rhonda
