Christmas in the Tippens Household

Missy here. I wanted to share a photo of my tree this year. It's not a great shot, because it was taken on my cell phone. But it's all I have, because soon after I took it, the top half of the lights went out! For a few days, I could wiggle the plug and get them to come back on. But then they went out and stayed out. So this is my only photo! :)

If you notice, one of our traditions is to have a stocking for everyone. And I mean EVERYONE--two-legged and four-legged creatures included. The dogs will get a tug rope in their stockings this year. The cat will get some treats. The kids--well, I can't tell, in case they're reading! :)

My husband and I even have stockings. I used to shop for all the stocking stuffers, mine included (which was kind of fun! I usually got myself a book ). But then one year, when I went to stuff my things in, I found my stocking was already full! My husband had caught on. Of course, I image I probably left a few hints, maybe even shamed him a little each year. LOL Still, it was a nice surprise. Now I don't have any reason (or excuse) to buy myself something. I know Santa will come for me, too. :)

I hope you all have a very merry Christmas! I pray you'll have time with loved ones as you celebrate Jesus's birthday!

  8. Hannah, it's a beautiful fireplace but hasn't been used in like 5 years! Not since the price of natural gas went up so high. :) (It's got gas logs.)

I hope Santa is good to you! :)

  11. Missy I figure being on my own if I dont talk to them I talk to myself and talking to others is better.
she was asking where something was and I was like I think it that way! so she asked if she could come with me. She was really fun. shes a student without alot of english but we managed taught her some english words and what things are. like what a paddock is.

  12. Merry Christmas all,
The blizzard of Christmas Eve 2009 stopped many of our family's plans but not the love and peace we wish to share with all our friends.
May the blessings of the season fill your hearts with joy.

  13. Pat, I'm sorry about the weather. I think it affected a lot of travel plans this year.

  14. Merry Christmas, sweet Missy! (a day late,LOL). Thanks for sharing this post--your tree is gorgeous, and I had to chuckle reading about all the stockings. Our pets also have stockings, and Santa always leaves treats for them too!~ My middle daughter received a beautiful engagement ring 2 days before Christmas, so this was an extra-special time for us (we adore her fiance--he's already like part of the family). Blessings and hugs, Patti Jo :)
