Home Sweet Home Cover

Hi Everyone. I just got a peak at my newest cover and blurb for Home Sweet Home. Beautiful, isn't it? Harlequin does such a great job. Somewhere to belong.... Finally ready to settle down, Abby Bancroft has just inherited a place to put down roots. But her hopes for a successful bed-and breakfast are placed on hold when she learns that her grandparents’ run-down inn is in serious need of TLC. So is Cole Preston, the handsome contractor who offers to help make her dream a reality. His past mistakes won’t let him consider settling in the close knit town. Yet as he and Abby work together to repair the house, they also begin to mend each other’s hearts. And they just may find that consulting their hearts is what creating a home is all about.

  1. With the unrelenting winter we've had that comfy chair, lemonade, and all that green look mighty inviting! :)

  3. Great cover, Kim. It reminds me of an Inn we've been to many times and enjoyed sitting on the huge wrap-around porch. Very comforting and homey.

  4. Thanks for stopping by Jenny and Patsy. I agree about the comfy chair and lemonade and the cat really does it for me. As soon as we settle in our new home, I promised the kidlets we'd get two pretty little kitties, maybe one that looks like the cat on the cover. And yes the art department at Harlequin does do a great job.

  5. Thanks for stopping by Carolyn. An old Victorian has always been my dream home--until I researched for this book. There is so much work, and so much that could go wrong. I'll just visit them from time to time.

  6. A black and white cat! You get to have a black and white cat on your cover? You go, girl! Sounds like a great book.

  7. Hi Kim:

    Beautiful cover!

If it were my book, I try to get the artwork from Harlequin and make jigsaw puzzles out of it for special gifts! I’d also like the artwork without any writing on it so I could frame it in my sunroom. In fact, that artwork would also make a nice deck of cards.

BTW: I hope that cat is really in the story!!! I bet cat lovers buy 25% more of your book, at retail outlets, than people who do not own cats but are in the same demographic.

  8. Yep. I got a black and white cat on my cover Pam. :) Hi Vince. Thansk for the ideas. I do get a poster sized print made up and frame it in my office. And yes there is a cat in the book. Boots. He's searching for a home like Abby is and I bet you're right. I tend to look more atbooks with nimals on the cover. Tanks for stopping by.

  10. Love the cover and love the cat sitting on the chair. makes me think of the summer we didn't have.

Saw Vinces comment about the cat lovers. You know it would be a plus for me as there are so many books with dogs and its assumed everyone loves dogs. I for one have a major fear of dogs but I love cats.

  11. Stunning cover and appealing story.

I found out about Craftie Books only a few months ago with Merrillee, but I must say I'm delighted with your power and sensibility to web a story with so much more than the usual - guy meets girl...

This might very well be my first Kim Watters'. I have a soft spot (hubby says a BIG soft spot ;)) with makeovers and the idea of an inn in a close-knit community is too appealing to pass.

    Thank you for sharing.

  12. THanks for stopping by Missy. :) You, too Jenny. Sorry to hear about your fear of dogs. I can relate but on a bird level. Shivers. Teresa, I'd like to know what you think when you're done with Home Sweet Home. I'd love to have a new fan. :) Have a great afternoon all.
